The club was started on 1st MAY 1900 in “VILLA MARINA” and owes its origin to a desire leading residents of Mumbai to provide a first class Club to which persons or politics on terms of social equality.

Prominent Indian personalities like Shri Bhulabhai J. Desai, H.H. Prince Aga Khan, H. H. Sayajirao Gaikwad, Sir Cowasjee Jehangir, Sir Purshottamdas Thukurdas, Sir Praphashankar Pattani, Senior I.C.S Officers, Senior Judges of the Honorable High Court were all Club’s members.
